Pure osmanthus absolute diluted in coconut oil, is in a semi-compressed state.  The aroma expands and decompresses when further diluted with ethanol, or with a carefully chosen carrier oil such as filtered coconut or jojoba.  Only after dilution does it reveal the true spectrum and diversity of its aroma.
