Observations and Anecdotal Information
Since ambrette CO2 extract is commercially produced for the flavor and fragrance industry, it can be hard to find high quality ambrette, and the cost is often higher than rose otto or agarwood.
Recently, the price had risen over 200% of the previous year’s distillation, so we opted to wait until the price went down. It has once again gone down, so I advise everyone to purchase enough for several years again. This CO2 extraction is rare, and the price is always volatile.
Ambrette can be added to teas or drinks to soothe digestive upsets. It is a great choice for adding to oil blends for skin conditions, rashes, and itchy skin.
Cautions
- Do not use for infants and small children.
- Product quality and dosage are critically important when using essential oils internally. Ambrette is mainly solvent extracted, be sure your product is truly CO2 or water extracted.
