Ruh khus attar is an original attar that can be used all on its own as a rich natural perfume. Because of its excellent tenacity, it more often provides a base note and fixative for natural signature perfumes, florals, amber notes, and sacred aromas.
Its beautiful aroma is an anti-depressant, sedative, cardio-tonic, and aphrodisiac. It is calming and helps one anchor a sense of peace and acceptance of self.

Ruh khus attar’s tenacity is excellent. Just a tiny bit added to an essential oil blend will bring a depth and balance to the energetics of the blend.
It is used extensively in natural perfumery to add mystery and longevity to blends, including precious woods, florals, spice and oriental blends.

Uses
Inhalation, diffusion, natural perfume blending, topical application, application to energy centers and meridian points.
A small amount of attar or ruh can go a very long way. They should be diluted with a carrier oil for use.
Observations and Anecdotal Information
This ancient essential oil co-distillation is distilled in traditional copper degs. The distillation of wild vetiver roots is seldom undertaken any more, as the yield is quite low and the process is labor intensive.
The olive green color of the ruh comes from being distilled in the copper degs. The aromatic notes vary depending on age of the roots, where they are harvested, etc. Each batch of ruh khus will be unique. It may contain notes of saffron or rose, intermingled with the earthy, mossy, rooty aromas of true vetiver.
