Observations and Anecdotal Information
Galangal essential oil is mainly used medicinally to increase the appetite and treat indigestion and colitis. It has other medicinal uses as well.
It can relieve the pain of strains, sprains, and contusions. It is a great oil to use in massage blends for tired or sore muscles, as it stimulates circulation and causes the muscles to release excess lactic acid and other by-products.
It is also helpful when diffused, to relieve coughing, open breathing passages, and dissolve congestion in lungs and bronchial tubes.
