Karo karounde is extracted from the white flowers of a shrub that grows in West Africa.  It is very rare and expensive, and has been a prized perfume ingredient since the time of ancient Rome.  It carries a fascinating olfactory complexity that lends itself to oriental perfumes, gardenia and jasmine florals, and modern perfumes.

What are absolutes, and how do I use them?

It is  a rich aromatic that carries an exaggerated sensuality.  It is useful for aphrodisiac bouquets and deep florals to be worn “in the night”.

Karo karounde  should be used in micro amounts, just a tiny bit in a blend, in order to receive the energetic benefits.  It supports the integration of the Light Body into the physical body–energy into form.

It is best to further dilute this absolute for energetic use.  It can be diluted as much as 50 parts carrier to 1 part of 20% absolute dilution.  (That would be about 15 ml or 1/2 ounce of carrier with 1 drop of karo karounde absolute dilution).  It may be best to start with this dilution and add to it until you find your favorite “sweet spot” for blending.

Coconut oil is a good candidate for further dilution.

As an energy medicine, using a similar dilution makes a wonderful treatment for relieving trauma and negative emotional energy around sexuality.  It restores a sense of self esteem in the emotional body without losing the understanding of life lessons that may have come through trauma.  For this purpose, apply the dilution to throat, heart,  solar plexus, and abdominal energy centers.  Also apply a tiny drop or two under the nose and inhale deeply.

Karo karounde is so potent that it can be greatly diluted for blending.  It is used in creating floral spice notes, sacred perfumes, incense notes, oriental perfumes, and high end perfumes.

It blends well with select oils, including  black pepper, balsam copaiba, ginger,  jasmine.
