Decyl Glucoside Certified Organic

$15.60

I searched for a natural, organic and sulphate free cleanser bas that was mild enough for use in shampoo, baby shampoo, and skin wash, for years!   Now I have found it, and I can’t wait to share it with the world!  It is made of only one ingredient–certified organic decyl glucoside.

Decyl glucoside is a naturally derived surfactant–sudsing agent–which can be used with added ingredients to make  shampoos and body washes.  (For a stronger detergent base, check out our certified organic laurel glucoside).

Our decyl glucoside is made from certified organic coconuts.  It is much softer and safer for the body than SLS and all of its derivatives, that are normally used in commercial cleansing products.

It is easy to add a few natural ingredients to create a clean, safer natural shampoo.  Check out some shampoo recipes here.

You can also use decyl glucoside as a base for more advanced hair cleansing products, such as our 5 Elements mud shampoos.  We have been working to perfect these recipes,  and hope to have them available for download by April 30, 2020.  Watch our BLOG or check back on this webpage for updates!

How to Use Decyl Glucoside

Use decyl glucoside certified organic as a base for shampoos, skin washes, and  body cleansers.

You can add essential oils, water or liquid, Pascalite clay, or other cleansing agents if you desire.  The more you add, the less sudsing action will take place, so you must experiment and  find the happy medium.

For a great starting point recipe, see our BLOG page.  This will give you a starting point to begin your experiments and create your own wonderful, natural shampoo!

You will need to experiment to find your favorite mix.  We suggest that you make up a small amount at a time and see how you like it before making a big batch.   Adjust each batch accordingly until you find the best mix.  Remember that the target ph is between 5 and 7.  You can lower ph by adding vitamin C, and lower it with a trace of baking soda.  It does not take much so go lightly!

Laurel glucoside used to be included in our shampoo recipes, but we found that decyl glucoside is MUCH more gentle, and more suitable for shampoo and skin products.   We use laurel glucoside  for all of our home cleansing needs, especially dish soap, laundry soap, and bathroom cleanser.
